You found your own handwriting from years ago.

An old note, a file on a laptop you were about to wipe. The problems on it are the problems you have now. Not similar. The same.

That is the reading everybody makes, and it is only half the page.

Run the other half.

Fifteen years ago, that thing could take a whole night off you. It could get you at a red light. It arrived with a full charge and it ran the evening.

Last Tuesday it came back and you thought, oh, this again. And then you got the milk out of the car.

Nothing was solved. The thing is still on the list, exactly as written, and you cannot claim a single victory over it.

But it is not carrying what it used to carry.

You never counted that, because you have been keeping score on whether it comes back. Nobody keeps score on how loud it is when it does. So fifteen years of it getting quieter went in as fifteen years of failure.

The thing has been losing voltage the whole time, in a room where nobody was measuring voltage.

The one thing:

Take the oldest one on your list. Not whether it is gone.

How loud was it the last time, compared to the first time you wrote it down?

P.S. I finished my 30-day Ash Journal run on July 30. In public, one page a day, no edits, all thirty.

Five minutes. One prompt. One line of ash. The first seven days are free: truevitalyou.com/journal
