Somewhere in you there's a list of what's missing.
Nobody wrote it down. It runs anyway. The house thing. The number. The version of the work. The mornings that belong to you. It hums under everything like a refrigerator. You stopped hearing it years ago. It kept running.
Ask when you wrote it.
Most of it went on there a long time ago, by a person in a different life, wanting his way out of a different corner. And wanting has no review step. Nothing in you ever reads the list back against what actually arrived.
A man who stopped working for half a year to figure out what was wrong came back with one finding. He said he realized all the things he wanted, he already had.
Sit with that one. It isn't a poster line. It's a man discovering that his wanting had outlived its own fulfillment and kept collecting anyway.
The one thing for the weekend:
Say the list out loud tonight. The real one, the one that hums.
Then, next to each line, say the year you added it. Notice how many of them a younger you already went out and got for you.
He never got told.

P.S. I finished my 30-day Ash Journal run on July 30. In public, one page a day, no edits, all thirty.
Five minutes. One prompt. One line of ash. The first seven days are free: truevitalyou.com/journal
