There's a belief that before you can release something, you need to understand it completely. That you have to trace it back. Find the root. Name the pattern. Build a full explanation for why it showed up and what it meant.
Sometimes that's helpful. Sometimes it's just another way to hold on.
Not everything requires a full autopsy before you set it down. Some things just need space. Some things just need permission to leave without a debriefing.
You can let go of something without fully understanding it. You can stop carrying it even if you never find the exact reason you picked it up.
Understanding is valuable. But it isn't always the price of release.
One thing:
Identify one thing you've been trying to analyze your way out of and give yourself permission to set it down without resolving it.
